PE rattan — short for polyethylene rattan — is an engineered synthetic fibre woven over a metal frame to replicate the look of natural cane. Unlike natural rattan, which is a plant-based material that absorbs moisture, cracks under UV exposure, and requires seasonal storage, PE rattan is 100% synthetic, waterproof, and engineered for permanent outdoor use.

Without UV stabilizers, outdoor PE rattan fades to a chalky, dull finish within one to two Indian summers. UV-stabilized HDPE wicker retains colour and flexibility significantly longer. 4. Cushion Fabric Specification
Cushions are the component most likely to fail before the frame or the weaving.
